East Bay Home Staging Services for Beautiful, Market-Ready Homes

Professionally staged East Bay home with stylish furniture, neutral interiors and modern decor by Velvet Home Staging, creating a welcoming market-ready property

Selling a home in the East Bay means presenting it to buyers who have plenty to compare, from character-filled homes in Oakland and Berkeley to contemporary properties in Alameda, San Leandro, Walnut Creek, Danville, and communities throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties.

At Velvet Home Staging, we create warm, elegant, and inviting interiors designed to bring out the best in each property. Our staging considers the home’s architecture, natural light, room proportions, existing finishes, and likely buyer experience, not simply where furniture will fit.

Based in San Leandro and serving the wider Bay Area, our team stages vacant and occupied homes with carefully selected furniture, décor, and finishing details that help each space feel complete.

Home Staging That Helps East Bay Properties Make a Strong First Impression

A buyer’s first impression often begins before they walk through the door. Listing photos, online property searches, open houses, and private showings all shape how buyers experience a home.

Professional staging helps bring those experiences together.

Rather than filling rooms for the sake of filling them, our goal is to show how each area can be used while creating a cohesive look throughout the property. Furniture scale, layout, color, texture, and décor are considered together so rooms feel comfortable and visually balanced.

Client Experience

“The designers did an outstanding job transforming the home into a warm, elegant, and inviting space.”

— Luis Rodriguez

That is the difference thoughtful staging can make: helping buyers see the property rather than being distracted by an empty room, an awkward layout, or furnishings that do not complement the space.

Staging Homes Across the East Bay

The East Bay isn’t one type of neighborhood, buyer, or home.

Oakland and Berkeley are known for a mix of Craftsman homes, bungalows, historic properties, condos, and contemporary residences. Alameda combines older character homes with newer properties and waterfront living, while communities farther inland include larger suburban homes, newer construction, and luxury residences.

Velvet Home Staging serves homeowners, real estate professionals, and properties throughout the East Bay, including:

Our approach changes with the property. A compact condo shouldn’t be staged like a large suburban residence, and a character home doesn’t need to lose everything that makes it distinctive just to look current.

The goal is to understand the home first and then choose a design direction that supports it.

A Staging Approach Designed Around Your Property

Good staging should make a home feel natural not like furniture was delivered simply to fill empty space.

We begin by looking at the property’s layout, architecture, room dimensions, natural light, finishes, and existing features. From there, furnishings and décor can be selected to establish proportion, improve flow, and give each important room a clear purpose.

That may mean drawing attention toward a fireplace, making better use of an open living and dining area, giving an unusual corner a purpose, or selecting appropriately scaled furniture so a smaller room doesn’t feel crowded.

A Client’s Take

“Often buyers will ask if they can buy her furniture because it fits so well in the space!” — Jenn Collins

East Bay homes also offer different relationships with the outdoors. Patios, balconies, yards, hillside views, and large windows can become part of how buyers experience a property. Staging should complement those features rather than compete with them.

Vacant and Occupied Home Staging in the East Bay

Not every property comes to us in the same condition. That’s why Velvet stages both vacant and occupied homes.

Vacant Home Staging

An empty room gives buyers very little context for scale or function.

Staging introduces furniture and décor that help define the space, demonstrate room proportions, and create a more complete presentation for photography and showings.

We can stage key areas of a vacant property using furniture, artwork, textiles, accessories, and other design elements selected to work together as one cohesive interior.

Occupied Home Staging

You don’t necessarily have to empty your entire home before it can be staged.

For occupied properties, we can work with suitable pieces already in the home and introduce additional Velvet furniture and décor where needed.

Occupied Home Staging in a Client’s Own Words

“She did a wonderful job brining in her own furniture and decorator items, but using much of ours also so we didn’t have to move everything out.”

— Shannon Mackin

This flexible approach can help create a polished presentation without making the process unnecessarily disruptive.

Luxury Home Staging for East Bay Properties

Luxury staging requires more than expensive furniture.

Founder and designer Rebeca Saint has grown Velvet Home Staging from smaller personal projects to staging and decorating multi-million-dollar homes throughout the Bay Area. Her design perspective has also been shaped by living and traveling across Europe, South America, and North America, where she developed an appreciation for different cultures, architecture, cuisines, and design styles.

Trusted by a Luxury Real Estate Professional

“Rebecca and her team are my go to in all my luxury real estate listings.”

— Robert Song

That broader design perspective is brought back to the property itself. The intention isn’t to impose one signature look on every house; it’s to create a cohesive environment that suits the architecture and feels appropriate for the home.

Home Staging for East Bay Real Estate Professionals

For real estate professionals, staging is part of preparing a listing for market.

That means good design is only one part of the job. Communication, scheduling, installation, furniture quality, reliability, and the ability to prepare a property efficiently matter too.

Velvet Home Staging offers flexible staging options, including 60-day staging contracts, and works with real estate professionals across the Bay Area.

A Transformation That Brought a Client Back

“The best form of compliment is repeat business.” Victor Lecha

Repeat business is one of the clearest signs of a positive client experience. After Velvet staged his Portola Valley home, Victor returned to Rebeca for help with his new home.

Client Testimonials

From Design to Installation

A beautifully staged room is what buyers see.

There is much more happening behind it.

Furniture and décor need to be selected, transported, installed, positioned, styled, and eventually removed. Doing that well requires the creative and logistical sides of the team to work together.

That combination allows us to focus on the details without losing sight of the practical side of preparing a property.

See What Professional Home Staging Can Change

Sometimes the easiest way to understand staging is simply to see the difference.

Furniture placement can change how large a room appears. The right layout can clarify how an unusual space works. Coordinated furnishings and décor can bring consistency to rooms that previously felt disconnected.

More importantly, we don’t believe every property should look the same. Each project begins with the home itself.

Rebeca Saint, founder and designer of Velvet Home Staging in San Leandro, California

Meet Rebeca Saint, Founder of Velvet Home Staging

Rebeca’s path to home staging didn’t begin in a design showroom.

Originally from Venezuela, she graduated with a tourism degree and built a career that gave her opportunities to travel and live in cities across Europe, South America, and North America. Along the way, she became immersed in different cultures, languages, cuisines, architecture, and design styles.

After settling in the Bay Area and buying her first property, Rebeca remodeled and decorated the home from top to bottom. Positive reactions to the transformation encouraged her to turn that interest into something bigger.

What began with smaller projects for friends gradually developed into Velvet Home Staging and opportunities to stage and decorate multi-million-dollar properties.

Today, that combination of international influence and local Bay Area experience continues to shape her approach to staging.
